Why We Built Tenant Access

Using hard copy keys in property management is an operational tax that us property managers have been paying for too long.

We've seen so many problems with keys and unmonitored vacant properties first-hand: furnaces stolen, copper plumbing stripped, squatters, missing keys, lockboxes that stop working, wondering if locks should be changed after a vendor goes rogue..

Using hard copy keys is a liability for property managers and owners, but that is all we've had to work with. UNTIL NOW.

Most keyless solutions only exist for larger multifamily property communities.  

But, for scattered-site rental portfolio investors/managers-like our Founder-managing rental properties with hard copy keys is a BIG thorn in the shoe. And, frankly, it's expensive.

Tenant Access exists to solve these problems in a way that is feasible for management teams of all sizes—by giving scattered-site property managers real centralized control over access without keys.  

Our Founder’s Story

I’ve always believed that landlords, property managers, and tenants all have to win—or it’s not worth building.

I started in real estate while I was still in high school and bought my first rental property at 22. Three months later, I was evicting my first tenant because she couldn't pay rent.

I had experience selling homes and worked as a broker, but property management and being a landlord came with a whole new learning curve.

Those early mistakes shaped everything that came next—from becoming a property manager to later managing assets for institutional clients nationwide working with remote teams.

Tenant Access exists because keys are a bottleneck and a security risk. They’re outdated, and most “keyless” solutions only solve part of the problem.

We’re building something different—an efficient, centralized way to manage access across entire portfolios.

Tenant Access connects to 20+ smart lock and device brands, so there’s no proprietary trap. The software is patent-protected, and we’re improving it every day.
